Wow... Liberals are pretty far out there.

This is a facebook comment turned blog post so excuse me if it's slightly disjointed.

Not sure where people copy and paste this from but I've seen it more than once and I'll give you my 2 cents on it.

If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

1. Not all liberals give a damn about what you do with your guns. I personally would assume as a sane person that you wouldn't use it to shoot another person. In fact under this administration you have more rights to carry loaded weapons in this country. Even if it was added because it was a rider to a credit card regulation bill. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35484383/

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat..
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone

2. That's pretty far fetched. I don't think I've heard but maybe one person in my entire life of LISTENING, say that they want to outlaw meat. Besides PETA.. they're nutjobs.

If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.

3. We don't demand the shutdown of networks we don't like. We simply ask for honesty and a shut down of fear mongering. Fox News can stick around as long as they stop lying to their audience to keep them afraid. Their goals may lean towards the right however their most important goal, the goal of any business, is to make money and they do that by keeping the fearful coming back for more and more doses of fear and woe... hoping that they'll hear something good at some point. There is good all around but you'll never hear it on Fox.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.

4. I am a non-believer and I believe that god has no place in government. Ken Buck is a perfect example. His faith leads him to believe that people choose to be gay and that there is no possible situation where abortion is necessary. I'd rather a man be lead by money than be lead by a work of fiction. It's like a senator pushing legislation to stop Lord Sauron from building his army of minions in Mordor.

Also it states in our constitution (a document that many conservatives hold in the utmost of high positions.. but most barely know what it says ) that the government holds no strings on religion and vice versa... yet we do give out tax breaks for churches... funny how that is just fine with most church going conservatives. In any case I'd say I lean farther left on that issue than most liberals... most just live and let live and as long as it doesn't effect them then they could care less if god is in government or not.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

5. At least 60% of conservatives, if not more, have never been "down and out" the same number holds true for liberals. It's not about left or right on that matter, it's about weather or not you are selfish or giving. Weather you care about all people or just yourself. I happen to know a few conservatives... present company included... who have been more than willing to take that help when it is offered to them by the government.

If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

6. Liberal or conservative, If you go "shopping" for health care RIGHT NOW and have a pre-existing condition... you won't get that healthcare. The law that was passed is far more about reform of the current systems so, again, ALL PEOPLE have at least the opportunity to be covered. You can't possibly know what this means until you actually have a pre-existing condition. It's easy to just say that those people who wanted reform are looking for a handout but really we are just looking to be treated fairly. We'll pay whatever we have to, we just want the right to be covered in case we ever get a long term illness.

As far as universal healthcare goes, perhaps it's not the best in low earning countries. But illegal immigrants who get sick in the US often return to Mexico for free healthcare so it can't be too awful if it would make them sneak BACK IN to the place that they worked so hard to sneak out of.

It takes a country making a high GDP to be able to afford it. That's why every other INDUSTRIALIZED nation in the world has a national healthcare system. We don't because it's too big of a business to let it fall and that business lines the pockets of liberal and conservative officials.

I think thats why we dont want libs in, they think like that ^

7. In closing I'd just like to say. For your sake and mine... make your best effort to think for yourself and don't tell me what I believe because you LITERALLY don't know me at all.

Also... side question... why are all conservatives men? "He doesn't eat meat", "He doesn't go to church", "he thinks about how to better his situation" Seems like a plus for us liberals because "He" will never be able to reproduce alone :)
